Join us Sunday, June 19, at the 2022 Juneteenth Freedom Festival in downtown Springdale, hosted by Music Moves. The CB to You Mobile Art Lab will be hosting a drop-in, mixed media drawing activity to help you flex your creative muscles, as well as offering free tickets to our latest temporary exhibition, The Dirty South: Contemporary Art, Material Culture, and the Sonic Impulse. We’ll also be hosting local artists Junli Song and the Mobile Print Cart, a live chalk mural created by local artists, and guest artist DJ Dribblz, presented by Her Set Her Sound.
Joining the Mobile Art Lab is an opportunity to explore a “gallery on wheels” via an ORT bus, curated by nonprofit art gallery, Art Ventures, in collaboration with Crystal Bridges Arts & Social Impact partners Ozark Regional Transit Authority and artists Lakisha Harper Bradley and Octavio Logo. The “gallery on wheels” asks visitors what would be better routes to support freedom of mobility? “Where To” would you like to go on public transportation? Please stop by the ORT bus and let us know what you think about transportation, fill out our digital survey, and pick up a free watercolor illustration by Octavio Logo!
Guest artist Shay Holloway will also be joining the lab for a live painting demonstration. Shay Holloway is a photographer and acrylic artist based in Northwest Arkansas. Her signature work consists of interpretations of galaxies. Her galaxy art demonstrates the premise that, just like galaxies, we are all made of pure energy wrapped in different colors, shapes, and sizes. She is a self-taught artist with a focus on creating artwork that gives you something new with every view. Through her creative journey, she wants others to see that creativity is not just something that is saved and rewarded to a select few, but that it lies in all of us and all of us have the power to access our internal artist in more than one way.
So stop on by—there’s sure to be plenty of creative fun for all.
Free, no tickets required. Drop by anytime from 1 to 5 p.m.
Self-taught with skills on the tables and on the court, DJ Dribblz loves to get her audience moving. Her love for reggae, hip-hop, and soul is apparent when she spins as she merges her kickback sounds with cookout vibes.
