Adult Workshop » Plein Air at Hobbs State Park
Capture the sweeping vistas and lush summer views of Hobbs State Park in this Plein Air watercolor workshop, led by award winning artist Alicia Farris. Inspired by the approaches of artists from the Hudson River School, Alicia will provide techniques and guidance in rendering the landscape in watercolor. All materials provided. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring a lunch. Special thanks to Hobbs State Park for hosting this offsite workshop.
Alicia Farris is a Springfield, MO based artist and instructor whose work has won numerous awards and has been exhibited in galleries and private collections throughout the world.
Farris received first prize honor in The Art of Watercolour Magazine’s International Reader’s Competition, 32nd issue (September 2018) with a 4-page interview in the magazine’s 33rd issue (December 2018) She was awarded the prestigious Edgar A. Whitney award with the Southwestern Watercolor Society, Award of Excellence in the Missouri Watercolor Society International Exhibition in Qingdao, China, and among other honors, has been recognized for her plein air work in the White River and Big Cedar Plein Air events. She holds signature membership in National Watercolor Society, Watercolor Honor Society, Southwestern Watercolor Society, Missouri Watercolor Society, St. Louis Watercolor Society, and Best of Missouri Hands.
