Crystal Bridges hires Retail Operations Manager

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art will be closed Monday, May 13, to prepare for the visit of Antiques Roadshow. We will return to normal hours of operation Wednesday, May 15.

Barbara Lenhardt Retail Operations Manager Barbara Lenhardt has been selected as retail operations manager for Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Lenhardt, who has 22 years of experience in retail management, will oversee the operation of the Museum store. She joined the Crystal Bridges staff Feb. 21.

“Barbara is uniquely qualified to create and manage a successful retail operation,” said Tracy Cude, chief financial officer for Crystal Bridges. “In addition to her past success, she brings a passion for ensuring that the store reflects our mission in all areas, from product selection and merchandising to atmosphere. I am so happy to welcome Barbara and look forward to her engagement with the Northwest Arkansas community.”

Lenhardt comes to Crystal Bridges from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, where she served since 2004 as manager of retail sales and product development. From 1988-2003, she operated her own store, Victorian Treasures, in Warwick, N.Y.

Lenhardt is a member of the Museum Store Association and was recently appointed director at large of that organization’s board of directors. She also served as president of the MSA’s Mid-Atlantic Chapter. Lenhardt is a member of the National Association of Female Executives and Toastmasters International. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Longwood University in Farmville, Va., and a bachelor’s degree in multicultural studies from Montclair State University in New Jersey.
