Kicking off Family Day and the final week of Diego Rivera’s America, this inaugural guacamole competition will feature teams of local media personalities who will each have 15 minutes to pit, mash, season, and mix up their favorite ingredients to win bragging rights for the best guacamole in town! The competition will be hosted by Jason Suel and Jaclyn House of Good Day NWA, and judged by President & CEO of the Peruvian Avocado Commission Xavier Equihua, Executive Chef of Lady Slipper Arturo Solis, and Director of F&B Operations of Ropeswing Matt Boring.
The judges will award this year’s Guac Off champion with a shiny silver avocado. The team at Avocados from Peru will also donate avocados to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, supplying an essential superfood to our community.
The Guac Off competing teams will include Crystal Martinez, Perry Elyaderani, and Josh Rugger of KNWA; Kyle Kellams, Jasper Logan, and Leigh Wood of KUAF; Monica Hooper of The Northwest-Arkansas Democrat Gazette; and Dominique Blake of KISS 105.3.
See you there! Free, no tickets required.
