Where To: Open Call for Proposals

OCT 1 – NOV 29

ORT bus wrapped in artwork

Are you an artist or art student looking to share your work with the public? Are you passionate about the needs and future of Northwest Arkansas? Are you searching for a project that would let you join a larger conversation about where your community is going?

Then welcome aboard—you’re in the right place.

As part of the Arts and Social Impact Accelerator Program (ASAP), and in partnership with Ozark Regional Transit and artist Octavio Logo, we’re looking for local artists to create an original artwork celebrating the importance of public transit. The selected work will be wrapped around the outside of an actual ORT bus and will travel daily throughout Northwest Arkansas in 2022. Our goal is to help communicate the importance, vitality, and necessity of the role public transit plays in our community, and to help artists and residents imagine a better future for transportation in Northwest Arkansas—together.

We are accepting proposals for this project from October 1, 2021, through November 29, 2021. Selected artists will be notified no later than December 6. Artists whose work is selected will be paid $1,200 for their time and the use of their original work.

Interested artists should submit their proposals using the form below.

  • The work must be designed to wrap around the exterior of an ORT public transit bus. View an example work (showing only one side).
  • The work must wrap around three sides of the bus: the rear left and right sections after the last window, and the rear surface of the bus. Use the template above to create your proposed work.
  • Proposals must be submitted as a high-resolution, 300dpi .jpg file, no larger than 10MB. (.gif, .png, and .pdf formats also accepted). The file must be labeled in the format artistfirstandlastname_title.jpeg.
