Write Now: Jen Murvin
Join us for an evening of topical discussion and creative writing—all from the comfort of home!
Led by writer and guest instructor Jennifer Murvin, we’ll take a deep dive into a vital skill for any art-loving writer: ekphrasis. Ekphrasis is writing that guides the reader into an experience of a work of art. More than just a kind of description, ekphrasis invites the reader to share the writer’s own experience and see art through their eyes.
In this guided workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of ekphrasis though essays, poems, fiction, and more, then learn how to share your own experiences of art inspired by our temporary exhibition Cross Pollination.
Beginner-friendly, this workshop is open to writers of all experience levels—all you need is something to write with and a love of language and art!
Free, tickets required. Register online or by calling Guest Services at (479) 657-2335 to reserve your spot today.
Once registered, you’ll receive an email with information about the event and the Zoom link for your convenience.
