How to Spend the Perfect Fall Day at Crystal Bridges

No matter how many times you’ve walked through the Crystal Bridges permanent galleries, there is always something new to see. This season, we are particularly delighted to introduce Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirrored Room–My Heart is Dancing into the Universe (2018), which has taken up permanent residency in our newly designed Contemporary Art Gallery. The room is currently open for members and will be open to the public beginning on October 2. This is a ticketed event, but tickets are free, or $1 if you’d like to reserve a time slot online ahead of time.

Beyond Yayoi Kusama, we have also acquired new artworks by artists such as Kehinde Wiley, David Esterly, Jordan Casteel, and more. See them all this fall!

5. Drop in on a Free Gallery Tour

Want to learn more about the art in our galleries? Join a Drop-In Tour! Drop-in Tours are one-hour, guided tours offered daily and led by a trained volunteer Tour Guide. They are free and no registration is required to participate – just meet your Tour Guide at the designated location about 5 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Several different themed tours are available to choose from throughout the week, including collection highlights, architecture, sculpture, and the ever-popular “is it art?” tour. Nature Walks are also offered on Thursdays and Fridays if you prefer to venture out on the autumn trails with a guide. Tours are a wonderful, free way to enhance your museum experience and appreciate the fall season with some new insight.

6. Grab a Bite to Eat in Eleven

It was probably inevitable that a museum called Crystal Bridges would eventually have an exhibition about crystals. This exciting new show, developed at Crystal Bridges, explores the powerful connections between crystals and art throughout the world, spanning history and geography. See ancient art and crystals from Egypt, Rome, China and more alongside the works of contemporary artists, and specimens found here in Arkansas. Discover how the power of crystal transcends the boundaries of time and space through art. Exclusively at Crystal Bridges this fall, opening Saturday, October 12.
