Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 9! At Crystal Bridges, there are plenty of ways to celebrate moms, aunts, sisters, grandmothers, and friends who are mommas with art, architecture, nature, drinks, gifts, and more. Here are five ways you can spend Mother’s Day weekend at the museum and treat all the mothers in your life.

Before you visit: General admission to the museum is free, simply reserve your free timed tickets.

Your safety is our top priority. Per CDC guidelines, Crystal Bridges requires visitors and staff to wear face coverings for ages 10 and older, except when eating or drinking. Following CDC guidelines, face shields and face coverings with exhaust valves or vents are not allowed. Masks are available upon entry for those who do not have one. Learn more about our safety measures here.

1. See Crafting America before it leaves

Do you know a mom who loves crafting? Then do we have the exhibition for you! Crafting America is a new exhibition organized by Crystal Bridges that brings craft front and center, featuring 120 works in ceramics, textiles, wood, metal, glass, and more unexpected materials. From jewelry to mid-century furniture to sculpture, this exhibition is full of dazzling surprises.

Crafting America is closing May 31, so Mother’s Day weekend is the perfect opportunity to see this groundbreaking show before it leaves the museum. Tickets can be reserved here along with your free, timed-ticket museum entry.

2. Check out the Museum Store and buy the perfect gift for Mother’s Day

Treat the mothers in your life to a coffee, tea, smoothie, or glass of wine at our Coffee Bar. All our coffee is sourced through Onyx Coffee Lab and our tea comes from Savoy Tea Co. Once you’ve grabbed your special drink, you can enjoy the view from Eleven or head out to take a walk on the trails. There are over five miles of walking trails at Crystal Bridges and between the natural Ozark forest, beautiful blooms, and over 30 sculptures around the grounds, there’s quite a lot to see! (P.S. – Leashed dogs are welcome on the trails.)

5. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the galleries

The galleries at Crystal Bridges are ever-changing, offering new artworks and focus exhibitions every few months. Currently, you can enjoy exhibitions such as This Is the Day and Companion Species in the galleries for free! Spend a day with all the moms in your life looking at art, discussing themes, and talking about pieces you admire and why. What colors or shapes speak to you most? Do you have a favorite artist? What do you know about him, her, or them? Enjoy yourself and learn something new!

P.S. – Here’s what you can do at the Momentary for Mother’s Day weekend.
