Forest Concert Series – 2018

Spend your fall Saturday evenings with Crystal Bridges! This series of musical performances merges national and local acts in our beautiful North Forest. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket to enjoy music and dancing under the changing colors of the forest trees. A food truck and cash bar will be available throughout the night, as well as art making activities.

*Please Note: Though tickets for members and youth ages 18 and under are free, a printed ticket is required for entry. Reserve these tickets online or with Guest Services.

Opal Agafia & The Sweet Nothings, The Bergamot

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 7 TO 10 PM

Kicking off the fall concert season with two acts by strong women singers: Northwest Arkansas favorite Opal Agafia and The Sweet Nothings, and Jillian Speece from the Brooklyn-based duo The Bergamot.

Cha! Cha! Cha! From Mambo to Salsa presented by Son Sin Gnero

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 7 TO 10 PM

Northwest Arkansas’s newest salsa band, Son Sin Gnero, takes the main stage for an evening of hot Latin music and dancing in the forest. Fernando Valencia is a Colombian native and teaches Percussion and Latin American Music at the University of Arkansas. Valencia will guide the evening with an opening line up of friends featuring sets by Papa Rap and ArkanSalsa.

Kiran Ahluwalia, Celebrates Love and Diversity!

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 7 TO 10 PM

Two-time JUNO award winner Kiran Ahluwalia graces the Forest Concert Series fresh from her “LOVEfest” tour, which featured four acts from Sikh and Muslim countries and was designed as a musical response to hate crime. Kiran recently released her seventh recording, “7 Billion” (referring to the number of people on this planet). Her husband/musical partner, Res Abbasi, and ensemble joins her for a fabulous evening of Indian classical, jazz and contemporary sounds.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 7 TO 10 PM

Indie-soul-folk songwriter AHI (pronounced ‘I’) is a rare talent who independently toured over 50,000 miles through the vast woodlands of Canada and the neon lights of Nashville, to the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Along the way, he has recorded leading acoustic sessions such as NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert Series. His sophomore album is In Our Time, preceded by We Made It Through the Wreckage.

Orchestral Pow Wow Project celebrates Indigenous music collaboration with the House of Songs Ozarks

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6, 7 TO 10 PM

For the final forest concert of the season, we are celebrating the opening of the special exhibition, Art for a New Understanding: Native Voices, 1950s to Now, in collaboration with the House of Songs Ozarks. Visiting musicians Cherokee songstress Kalyn Fay from Oklahoma, and the Orchestral Pow Wow Project directed by Cris Derksen responds to a perceived need to truly incorporate Indigenous artists in art that claims Indigenous credit through dynamic live performances. Joining the Pow Wow Project is renowned hoop dancer Nimkii Osawamick.
