Green Whisper Bald Cypress

Leaf type: Light and whispy leaves fall in the winter.

Bloom description: Small inconspicuous flowers. Male and female flowers on the same tree. Small round cones are more noteworthy and stay attached to the branches through the winter.

Garden uses: Summertime shade tree. Wonderful exfoliating bark and light green, feathery leaves. Can easily tolerate continually damp soils; just be careful not to trip on their knees!

Wildlife benefits: Shelters birds and small animals.
