About Spector Craft Prize
THE SPECTOR CRAFT PRIZE
Each year, the Spector Craft Prize honors one established artist whose body of work represents an exceptional contribution to American craft. The recipient is selected in collaboration with the year’s museum partner, with guidance from the Spector Craft Prize Advisory Board and adviser Glenn Adamson.
A significant work by the recipient is acquired for the museum’s permanent collection, with funding from the Spector Family Foundation—bringing exceptional craft into the broader story of American art. The recipient also takes a leadership role in the Spector Craft Prize community, sharing knowledge and experience with the next generation.
THE SPECTOR CRAFT PRIZE FOR EMERGING ARTISTS
Each year, five emerging artists are recognized at a pivotal stage in their careers. They receive financial support, mentorship, professional development, and access to a growing community across craft, art, design, and culture.
The program is designed to give artists both the resources and relationships to build lasting careers.
Emerging artists also participate in the Spector Craft Summit, placing their work and voices at the center of the conversations shaping the future of craft.
