How do you best tell your story? Are you ready to find out?

In this class, we’ll use prompts based on contemporary memoir and essays to write a short piece of personal narrative. You’ll learn to identify emerging themes and hybridize and transform the narrative with strategies rooted in the craft of fiction writing. Writing materials will be provided.

This month’s creative writing workshop will be led by guest artist Jane Blunschi. Her fiction writing explores issues of spirituality and domesticity through a lens of queerness. Blunschi holds an MFA in Fiction Writing from the University of Arkansas. Her collection of stories Understand Me, Sugar was published in 2017 by Yellow Flag Press, and her work has appeared in Paper Darts, SmokeLong Quarterly, and Foglifter. Blunschi lives in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
