Michael Frizell is the Director of Student Learning Services at Missouri State University and holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He is the editor of The Learning Assistance Review, the National College Learning Center Association’s peer-reviewed journal. He was also part of the editorial team for NCLCA’s first book, Learning Centers in the 21st Century. He spearheaded their second book, Rising to the Challenge: Navigating COVID-19 as Higher Education Learning Center Leaders. His creative work includes Bender, a graphic novel about the first American serial killer family published by Oghma Creative Media. He also writes the introductions for the re-releases of several Harold Robbins novels. As a writer for TidalWave Comics, he has written over 80 comic books based on famous people. Recent publications include biographies of Dolly Parton, Selena, Pete Buttigieg, Kamala Harris, Stacey Abrams, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and supplements to Netflix’s Tiger King. His numerous fiction comics include the superhero stories Ares: Goddess of War, The Bold and the Brave, Judo Girl, and TNT Jackson. His comics Stormy Daniels: Space Force and The Fantasy World of Bettie Page feature the authorized likenesses of the actresses. He and his wife, Julia, live in Springfield, Missouri.
