Join us virtually or in person for an opening discussion celebrating our newest temporary exhibition, The Dirty South: Contemporary Art, Material Culture, and the Sonic Impulse!
The lecture will feature the exhibition’s curator Valerie Cassel Oliver, the Sydney and Frances Lewis Family Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and Alejo Benedetti, Associate Curator, Contemporary Art at Crystal Bridges in conversation. They’ll explore the themes of the exhibition, how unique works came together, and show just how The Dirty South invites us to experience a deeper understanding of the African American South and its undeniable imprint on the history of American art.
Free, tickets requested. Reserve your spot online or with Guest Services at (479) 657-2335 today. Once registered, participants will receive email updates and reminders with information about the event.
