Join local artists Deborah Thomas, Laura Redford, and other members of the NWA Handweavers Guild in the Studio for an inside look at the secrets of weaving. This conversation and live loom demonstration will give you a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the stories of these artists and shed light on how they use weaving techniques to create stunning tapestries and fiber art. About the Speakers

Deborah Thomas is a fiber artist focusing primarily on tapestry weaving. Deborah’s work has been exhibited in regional exhibitions, most recently at the Walton Arts Center 2023 Our Art Our Region Our Time and at the 2023 Midwest Weavers Association’s A Confluence of Threads where her work was awarded First Place in Tapestry and the Popular Choice Award.

Laura Redford studies historic handwoven coverlets and the weavers who made them. She is the co-author of Ozark Coverlets: The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History Collection and is working on a second book featuring other weavers and their work.
