Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art will be closed Monday, May 13, to prepare for the visit of Antiques Roadshow. We will return to normal hours of operation Wednesday, May 15.

Educators of all subjects are invited to join us at Crystal Bridges for a four-day interactive workshop designed to inspire you to include research-supported Arts Integration strategies into your pedagogy. As a participant, you will explore Crystal Bridges’ extensive collection while also building tailored lesson plans using Arts Integration strategies. We are excited to present you with a special experience where, upon leaving the Institute, you can step away refreshed and full of renewed ideas for engaging your students.

Collaborating with Museum Educators and guest instructors, you’ll explore how Arts Integration can positively impact student success by connecting memorable learning experiences with your curriculum. Through learning and practicing the dialogical method of teaching, a process of student-centered dialogue and exploration, you’ll equip yourself with the resources you need to strengthen your students’ observation, critical thinking, and discussion skills. Arts Integration transcends curriculum to elevate the whole person—as opposed to just the ‘student’ in them—and incorporates wellness, self-care, and socialization components into your classroom.

The on-site workshop allows you to spend time in the galleries and receive hands-on artmaking instruction from local artists to facilitate a diverse range of learning methods. While all teachers are welcome, Crystal Bridges offers a unique opportunity to explore American history through the lens of our collection. In collaboration with the Warner Foundation join us to explore American history through art. Educators of all subjects can utilize a historical lens to create more inclusive and welcoming spaces for students to explore history in engaging ways.

In addition to a unique learning experience, you’ll receive 24 hours of CPE credits, classroom resources to take home (including artwork posters with pre-built lesson plans), and a priority opportunity to access special programs for yourself and your students. Additionally, coffee, refreshments, snacks, and lunch will be provided to all participants.

See you there!
