Celebrate spring, nature, and art with a special outdoor meditation event along the Art Trail!

“Forest Bathing,” or shinrin-yoku, is an evidence-based, holistic practice that uses immersion in natural environments to promote health and wellness. Join guest instructor and Forest Therapy Guide Emmie Brenzel on the Bachman-Wilson House lawn, then head onto the trail as we learn about the history behind “forest bathing” and discover the health benefits of Nature and Forest Therapy.

This experiential class will feature trail walking, slow movements in nature, deep listening, and close observation practices, along with optional discussion and sharing. You’ll experience a guided Forest Therapy walk and identify nature practices that you can take with you into your everyday life to enhance physical, mental, and/or spiritual well-being. We’ll conclude with an optional viewing of James Turrell’s The Way of Color in the Skyspace.

Whether you’re an experienced serenity-seeker or just curious about finding a little more balance, this program is beginner-friendly and open to meditators of all experience levels. A short walk along a paved path may be required, and portable stools will be available. We encourage you to dress for the weather, preferably with layers, keeping in mind that temperatures will be cooler when stationary or resting on the ground.

Tickets are $25 ($20 for members), reserve your spot online or with Guest Services at (479) 657-2335 today.
