About the Artist
Anna Guyton (they/them) is a photographer and painter who was born and raised in Fayetteville, AR. Anna’s art practice emphasizes photography’s materiality through physical manipulations of prints and employs photography as a means of representing the embodied self, reclaiming space, and bodily liberation. They completed their undergraduate degree in studio art from Reed College (Portland, OR) and recently returned to their hometown to pursue their MFA in Photography from UARK. Their work has been exhibited in various spaces, including a 2023 solo show on Mt. Sequoyah entitled Transfiguration. They have also shown in many Portland area galleries, including Blackfish Gallery’s Recent Graduates Exhibition and the Blue Sky Photography Center’s 2022 PNW Drawers. Their work has been published in The Hand Magazine, The Fat Zine, and Lemon Car Lot.
