About Veteran’s Healthcare System of the Ozarks

Veterans’ Healthcare System of the Ozarks (VHSO) and local community partners support a mission to build awareness, provide education, and develop strategies toward the prevention of Suicide and Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). This educational event seeks not only to increase community knowledge on suicide prevention and IPV, but also to foster healthy relationships, inform the public about veteran/military culture, and increase awareness of mental health challenges this population may face.

The alliances held between the VA and communities will ultimately enrich the lives of Veterans, military families, caregivers, and communities who have been impacted by violence through professional development, research, knowledge, and intervention. Join us in support of resilience, equity, and collaboration.

Whitney Gill-Savage

Whitney Gill-Savage is a wife, mother, paralegal, a green thumb enthusiast and serves as the current Mrs. Arkansas International 2024. She is also a 12 year domestic violence survivor. She is the founder of “Take a Stand AR”, a social media presence dedicated to letting victims across the state know where they can turn to for valuable resources as well as keeping survivors and supporters updated with ways they can donate and volunteer.

Whether she’s working, or on the ball field with their kids, you can also find her number one supporter, her husband, James Savage.

Together, they are dedicated to reaching out to young Arkansans all over the state to take a stand for healthier relationships and to recognize the signs of abuse before it’s too late.

It’s time to take a stand for healthy relationships so we can be allies and advocates for ourselves and others.
