In this two-part workshop, create your own hand-painted ceramic plate inspired by the commemorative plates featured in America 250: Common Threads. In the first session, explore historic examples and develop your design on paper. In the second session, transfer your design onto a premade bisqueware plate and paint with cobalt underglaze, echoing the traditional blue-lettered “blue plaques.” Your plate can celebrate any personal milestone, from adopting a pet to marking a meaningful achievement.”
