Led by local artist Madison Svendgard and inspired by personal experience, you’ll learn how to make your own narrative artwork from a short story and dip your toes into the world of illustration techniques and acrylic paint.

About the Instructor

Madison Svendgard is a narrative-based artist creating works on paper which explore themes of labor, boredom, and escapism while using elements of magical realism to create intrigue in the mundane. Svendgard received her BFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and MFA from the University of Arkansas with an emphasis in drawing. She was awarded the Coleman award for printmaking and the Vreeland award, and has work published in Glasstire and Thrillist magazine.
