Adult Workshop: Icon Painting with Ray Parker
We all have someone who inspired us to be who we are. We think it’s time we honored them.
Led by local artist Ray Allen Parker and inspired by both his striking Icon Series of portraits and the new exhibition Selena Forever, this workshop will show you how to create your own icon painting of someone in your own life. You’ll learn how to capture not just the appearance of a person, but to express something about who they are as a person—and what they mean to you.
No experience painting? No problem! We’ll provide step-by-step directions and guidance to help you bring your icon to life. All you need to bring with you is a reference photo of your inspirational person, and we’ll provide the rest.
