Frank Lloyd Wright designed the Guggenheim—one of his most iconic buildings—in his 70s and 80s. Anna Moses didn’t begin painting until she was 72. Creativity isn’t just for kids—and we’d love for you to create with us.

In this eight-week class designed for folks age 55+, you’ll have the chance to express yourself creatively, learn how to discover artistic opportunities in your daily life, and make connections with other older adults and art lovers.

This spring, discover a new vantage point on art as we explore perspective in drawing, sketching, and painting. Guest instructor and artist Owen Buffington will show you how to add realistic depth and viewpoints to your artworks by exploring the architecture and galleries of the museum, sketching exercises, large-scale drawings, and a final painting project that puts your new skills into practice.

Along the way, you’ll get to know the other artists and participants, have a few good laughs, and have the chance to enjoy growing creatively together.

All supplies are included, and no artistic experience is necessary. Need-based scholarships to cover class registration are available.

Tickets are $150 ($120 for members), reserve your spot online or by calling Guest Services at (479) 657-2335 today.
Ticket includes all supplies and registration for all eight class sessions.

Why Creative Aging

Creative Aging programs by Crystal Bridges strive to support creativity, self-expression, and community in older adults. Each program is guided by a professional artist and educator and is designed to help participants learn and apply artmaking skills, engage with artworks in the museum collection, and build connections with each other. Our goal is to provide a space for older adults that welcomes all, promotes physical and mental wellbeing, and helps people age creatively together.
