Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art will be closed Monday, May 13, to prepare for the visit of Antiques Roadshow. We will return to normal hours of operation Wednesday, May 15.

The videos listed here were the highest-viewed video on our YouTube page each year. As we close out 2021, take a look back on artist talks, try your hand at an artmaking activity, or relive some of your favorite moments as we prepare for a brand new year!

2012: Student Preparation for Crystal Bridges

Crystal Bridges produced this short video to help prepare students for their school visit. This video provides them with some insight into the history of Crystal Bridges, fun and informative facts, and museum etiquette 101.

2013: Discovering Angels & Tomboys

Former Curator of American Art Kevin Murphy discusses the installation of the Angels & Tomboys exhibition at Crystal Bridges and provides insight into how the museum selects and prepares for temporary exhibitions in general.

2014: Meet Frank Lloyd Wright’s Bachman-Wilson House

Originally built in 1954 along the Millstone River in Somerset County, New Jersey, this classic Usonian home, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, was acquired by Crystal Bridges late in 2013, and, during the time of this video, was in the process of being dismantled and relocated to the museum grounds in Bentonville. This short video provides a look at the historic home in its original location before the start of the deconstruction process.

2015: Reconstructing the Frank Lloyd Wright House

This video documents the Bachman-Wilson House’s journey to Crystal Bridges. It was transported 1,200 miles across the country and meticulously reconstructed on the grounds of the museum.

2016: Keynote Lecture: A Conversation with Artist Jamie Wyeth

Jamie Wyeth comes from a family of artists, including his grandfather, the illustrator Newell Convers Wyeth (1992-1945); his father, painter Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009); and his aunt, Caroline Wyeth Hurd (1909-1994). He was encouraged to seriously pursue art at a young age, but never attended art school. Instead, he left school at the age of 11 and received instruction at home from his aunt, a Surrealist painter, with critical guidance from his father. Later, Wyeth studied anatomy by sketching cadavers in a New York City morgue, and worked with Andy Warhol in the Factory. Enjoy this lively onstage conversation with Wyeth about his career, his art, and his fascination with gulls and chickens.
