Abstraction

Abstraction is a rare example of a sculpture by Georgia O’Keeffe. The curved lines and simplified shapes of the sculpture resonate with the paintings for which she is well known, exploring a shared fascination with abstract forms derived from nature. The shape evokes a number of possible reference points, as it is reminiscent of a spiral, a bone, a tendril, or a seashell.
