Boundless

“I was told, ‘there's no borders, we don’t recognize that. You are both.’” --Shelley Niro

Two arms reach toward each other over an unbroken strand of DNA, suspended in possibility. A line of birds is lofted high above the disembodied arms, ending in a single airplane. Part of Shelley Niro’s larger Border series, Boundless pushes away from divisions, embracing what makes us universal. Niro was born in Niagara Falls, New York, and grew up in Six Nations of the Grand River in Canada.
