Reliquary Group
Look closely at the contents of each jar. Which object is most curious to you?
Andy Paiko creates reliquaries filled with hand-made “specimens,” evoking a historic cabinet of curiosities. The objects inside the detailed jars mimic seed pods, bones, and other natural materials, but they are all made of glass. By creating his own reliquaries, which typically hold holy objects, Paiko invites us to consider what objects are most important to us.
