Zero Hour
Inspired by an early 1900s image of a vaudeville performer painted half white and half black, Hank Willis Thomas collaborated with fellow artist Sanford Biggers to create Zero Hour. Thomas states, “we are all cultural hybrids. Can I be seen as a hybrid, not just between Black and white but male and female, American and African, or can I be seen as someone who exists in multiple places in multiple ways all at once?”
