Daylight at Russell's Corners

Daylight at Russell's Corners conveys a moment of stillness and silence in a frosty landscape. The scene portrays a crossroads on the outskirts of rural Woodstock, New York. George Ault lived in this small town for the last decade of his life. He created many images of isolated landscapes, envisioning a world separate from the trauma of global events such as World War II.
