Fayum-Re
While modern and abstract in the colorful combination of forms, this sculpture is rooted in nature. The central elements in Fayum-Re are directly cast into bronze from Monstera leaves, a tropical plant. All the elements together represent geographical features on a three-dimensional map. The blue forms refer to rivers and the pink forms refer to the Fayum Delta region of Egypt, which Graves visited in 1981.
