Hanging Heart (Gold/Magenta) is one of five related works in different color schemes from the artist’s Celebration series, which embraces the wonderment and joyful innocence of childhood, as well as annual celebrations, such as Valentine’s Day. The highly reflective surface of Hanging Heart is achieved through the application of more than 10 layers of transparent color coating. Though crafted to appear as light as a balloon, Hanging Heart is made of high-chromium steel and weighs more than 3,000 pounds.
