Shaumonekusse, Oto Half Chief (Husband of Eagle of Delight)

Oto leader Shaumonekusse wears a bisonhorn headdress and bear-claw necklace, indicating his skill as a hunter. He also wears a presidential “peace medal”—a calculated diplomatic gift from United States government officials who wanted to increase white settlement on tribal lands.
