The Way of Color

James Turrell has referred to himself as a “sculptor of light.” Precisely crafted from native stone, Turrell’s Skyspace, The Way of Color, provides a view of the sky altered by stunning lighting effects at dawn and dusk that change with the light outside, creating a unique experience for each viewer.

The Skyspace opens for the sunrise experience every morning approximately 30-45 minutes before sunrise. The sunset experience begins approximately 10 minutes before sunset. Each experience takes about 30-40 minutes. Precise times vary according to the time of year. Seating in the Skyspace is limited. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to secure a seat.
