Alaina Tahlate (Mun Ha’ahut), Caddo Language Revitalizationist, Citizen of the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma
Like many of the photographs in Will Wilson’s Critical Indigenous Photographic Exchange (CIPX) project, this portrait of Alaina Tahlate emphasizes autonomy and contemporary continuation of Indigenous identity. Wilson collaborates with his sitters—who determine their pose, clothing, props, and presentation—to create these works. Wilson’s works present a vibrant, contemporary vision of Native North America.
