Walking to Boras
Jim Dine saw Disney’s Pinocchio film adaptation as a six-year-old. Since childhood, the "magical" relationship between creator and material has fascinated him.
Walking to Boras is part of a group of works focusing on Pinocchio, including illustrations, paintings, and sculptures. Dine created this wood sculpture in preparation for the 30-foot-tall bronze statue Walking to Boras (2008), commissioned by the city of Borås, Sweden.
