Drawing for Grandparents
Carroll Cloar's vividly realistic drawing of an elderly couple captures the sentimentality of an old family photograph that's been cherished for decades. This work features somber faces, homely costumes, and a rural landscape that give us a glimpse into the old American South. Cloar's parents died when he was only 15 years old, but through art, he connected to his family lineage and personal history.
