September Sunshine
The house nestled within the greenery of September Sunshine was the artist’s own home. Nostalgic for the peace and picturesque beauty of country life, Twachtman purchased a farmhouse set on 17 acres of land in Greenwich, Connecticut, around 1890. He completed several additions to the house and depicted it in numerous paintings, showing it in all seasons. Bright golden leaves of the trees and a verdant lawn surround the home, integrating in within an idyllic setting.
