Write Now » Creative Writing and Borrowed Forms

Join Tulsa-based writer Liz Blood for an evening of topical discussion and creative writing emphasizing variations of form. We will engage with works of art from the Crystal Bridges collection and explore how the seemingly boring world of formalities (think mortgage payoff letters and medical prescriptions) is actually fertile soil to feed your writing. Bring your writing tools and any ordinary form that is personal to you—perhaps a bank statement, resume, prescription, birth certificate, field guide, horoscope, etc. Writers of all skill levels are welcome.

Liz Blood is a nonfiction writer and editor from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her work has appeared in Columbia Journal, Cimarron Review, HuffPost, AWP Writer’s Chronicle, Hunger Mountain, Oklahoma Today, and elsewhere. She is a 2020 Tulsa Artist Fellow, a contributing editor at Oklahoma Today, and an adjunct faculty member at Oklahoma City University’s Red Earth MFA in creative writing program.
