Virtual Art by the Glass » Collage Composition with Sam King
Join us for an evening of at-home artmaking for adults in our Virtual Art by the Glass event, with step-by-step instruction from local artist Sam King. Relax, pour yourself a drink, and connect virtually as you’re guided through the process of exploring collage as a compositional tool. The collage format allows for quick, adaptable, and sometimes surprising compositional decisions. In his own work, King engages the viewer’s instinct for recognition. His rhythmically charged works often hint at familiar visual experiences.
What to Bring:
- Paper (several sheets)
- Glue stick or other adhesive
- Pencils, charcoal, conte crayon, colored pencil, pastel, and/or markers
- Scissors and/or utility knife
- Magazines or any other printed paper that can be cut and repurposed
