The Power of Story » Elizabeth Catlett, Harriet Tubman, Harriet Jacobs

Join us for a virtual professional development session with Raven Cook, associate museum educator for outreach and community tours. The contribution of Black women abolitionists for many years has gone overlooked. The influential Elizabeth Catlett used her art to rectify this action and in her footsteps we will examine the role of Black women abolitionists and writers that empowered the forward movement of their community. One hour of PD credit available.

The Power of Story is a monthly teacher professional development series exploring Black history through art works in the Crystal Bridges collection. Let’s explore the past, consider the present, and imagine the future through African American artworks and literature.

Free. Register online or by calling Guest Services at 479.657.2335 to join via Zoom webinar. Once registered, you’ll receive a link to join the Zoom meeting in your ticket confirmation email.

Sponsored by Avis and Bill Bailey and Neff and Scarlet Basore.
