Inspired by the exhibition Soul of a Nation, take part in this evening series led by artist Sean P. Morrissey. Each evening will take a close look at an artist in the exhibition, introducing guests to a variety of printing methods such as silkscreen, relief printing, and unconventional printmaking processes. All materials provided.
Sean holds an M.F.A. in Studio Art from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a B.F.A. in Studio Art: Two-Dimensional Studies from Bowling Green State University (Ohio). Sean’s current research focuses on the contemporary American landscape dealing with land use, identity, and consumerism which utilizes traditional and non-traditional techniques to create works on paper and large-scale paperworks. Sean’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at places such as the International Print Center New York (New York), Bemis Center for Contemporary Art (Omaha), The Joel and Lila Harnett Museum of Art (Richmond), Dedalo Center for Contemporary Art (Italy), and the Biennale Internationale d’estampe contemporaine de Trois-Rivières (Québec).
