Fayetteville Roots Festival Concert » Shook Twins + The War and The Treaty
Enjoy an intimate concert in the Great Hall with the Shook Twins and The War and Treaty presented by Artinfusion and Fayetteville Roots Festival. The Shook Twins are an Indie folk-pop band hailing from Portland, Oregon. Identical twins, Katelyn and Laurie are the main songwriters and backed up by member Niko Slice on electric guitar, mandolin and vocals. 2016 saw the band opening up for Greensky Bluegrass on a 13 show tour. The War and The Treaty began with musician Michael Trotter, an Iraq veteran, who found hope and love after the war through the music and meeting his wife and lead singer, Tanya Blount. Blount is a seasoned performer whose musical influences include Mahalia Jackson, Dolly Parton, Sister Odette and Aretha Franklin. The War and Treaty, the name itself represents the pull between trauma and tranquility, music inspired by darkness and despair that ultimately finds a higher spiritual purpose.
