Educators Program » AAE Workshop

Wednesday and Thursday June 29 through June 30, 9 am to 3 pm

Wednesday June 29 through Thursday June 30, we’ll host an AAE (Arkansas Art Educators) Workshop!  In this two day art-intensive workshop, educators will spend time in the galleries gaining inspiration and gathering ideas from artists throughout American history, including John Peto and Robert Rauschenberg. This gallery experience will help to inform the studio time as educators learn artistic processes that will merge the concepts of the maker movement (such as using the “stuff you have”) with choice-based learning in the art classroom. We will reimagine traditional and non-traditional art materials and techniques as participants investigate, develop, and apply multiple art-making solutions for their K-12 curriculum founded on Arkansas’ Visual Arts State Frameworks. Communicate, reflect, and work alongside fellow art educators to discover how these concepts can be applied to both your classroom and personal art practice. 12 hours of Professional Development available.

You must be a NAEA/AAE member to participate in this workshop. If you are not currently a member, please join NAEA before enrolling. Annual NAEA Membership dues for an Arkansas resident is $80.

12 hours of Professional Development credit available

$65, register online or by calling Guest Services at 479.657.2335.
