Summer Fling (ages 21+) is the museum’s biggest party of the summer with live music, food, drinks, games, and more on the South Lawn. The summer might be winding down, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still have a good time in the cool, summer breeze. In addition to fun party activities, this is also an exciting time to explore other offerings of the museum at night.

Known as “the best blues band in Tennessee, Ghost Town Blues Band will be headlining Summer Fling with an evening of blues music and good vibes. As they state, this is “not your grandpa’s blues band. Their live show has been captivating audiences in the US, Canada, and Europe with their “second-line horn entrance,” cigar box guitars and electric push brooms to Allman Brothers style jams and even a hip-hop trombone player. The band’s stage show and energy is unparalleled and has been called the best new live blues show in the world.”
Opening for Ghost Town Blues Band and keeping the party going is Jukeboxx, an eight-piece energetic party band that will keep the dance floor bumping all night long with a high-stepping vocalist and an exciting mix of funk, R&B, and Top 40 hits.
Your $25 ticket to Summer Fling ($20 for members and FREE for Artinfusion members) not only includes access to the party, front row seats to Ghost Town Blues Band and access to games and art exhibitions, but it also includes a dinner ticket! The menu for the evening will consist of hickory-smoked pork shoulder sliders with pickled onions & comeback sauce (there is a vegetarian option of shredded jackfruit); char-grilled street corn with smoked butter, parmesan & lime. Yummy!
Beer, wine, and coke products will be available for purchase at Summer Fling along with a specialty drink created just for the occasion: grilled citrus and blistered grape sangria – a perfect companion for dancing the night away in the cool, summer breeze.
The Bachman-Wilson House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, will be open for late-night tours for Summer Fling guests only. Tours of the house sell out daily, so this is a perfect opportunity to beat the crowds, admire Wright’s architecture, and see it lit up in the lovely summer evening glow.
Nature’s Nation: American Art and Environment is Crystal Bridges’ summer special exhibition exploring the relationship that artists have had with nature for the past 300 years in American art. Larger-than-life portraits and quiet moments of reflection allow its visitors to consider the impact we’ve had on the environment and how we can work to make it better – a timely and important show! Tickets for the exhibition are regularly priced at $12 for non-members, but Summer Fling guests get in FREE with their party ticket.
Summer Fling will also be one of the first opportunities for Artinfusion members and others to sign up for a Momentary membership. Find the Membership Booth for your chance to “Spin to Win” a Momentary membership, free drink, and more! The Momentary, Crystal Bridges’ satellite contemporary art space, will be opening next to 8th Street Market on February 22, 2020.
