For the very first time in the history of this event, Art Night Out is completely FREE for everyone of all ages! This Friday, April 19, from 6-11:30 p.m., come out to the museum to help us celebrate with an evening full of art, music, activities, and superheroes! Food trucks and a cash bar will be available for quick eats, and artists and musicians will awaken the museum with excitement. We even have two special guests making a crash-landing…
Here’s what you can expect at Art Night Out:
This year’s Art Night Out is superhero-themed in honor of the museum’s temporary exhibition Men of Steel, Women of Wonder. Guests are encouraged to dress up as their favorite superhero–human, alien, or immortal–and enjoy superhero-themed activities throughout the evening.
There is another reason why you should dress up for Art Night Out…
We will attempt to take the largest photo of superheroes at the museum, so come dressed and ready to strike your strongest pose on the North Lawn at 7:00 p.m. sharp. Everyone is invited to participate – just make sure to have your costume on!
Let’s send our favorite superheroes off with a bang! This is the last weekend that Men of Steel, Women of Wonder will be on view at Crystal Bridges before it travels to the San Antonio Museum of Art. While the exhibition is regularly priced at $12 for non-members, all Art Night Out guests will have access to the exhibition FOR FREE, one night only! Don’t miss your chance to see this exciting exhibition. Family tours of the exhibition will take off between 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. and will focus on four family-friendly artworks in the show.
Please note that Men of Steel, Women of Wonder has some mature content.
Big Piph and Mr. B are speakers, entertainers and community leaders who spark big ideas with their audiences. Located in the Lower Lobby and in the Modern Art Gallery, don’t miss their live performances that will inspire you to think big and get creative! Some might even require audience participation.
As soon as you walk in the door, Superman and Wonder Woman will be there to greet you! Be sure to get your photo with them and start the night off feeling super heroic!
Out on Walker Landing, enjoy a full lineup of music that will keep the evening alive with excitement. Fossils of Ancient Robots and Barbarians of Tomorrow will open the evening. Then, out of Tulsa, Count Tutu is the “world groove funk machine of the Midwest.” Their music will keep everybody moving. Then, later in the evening, Capyac will awaken the museum with pulse-pounding sounds to keep you on your feet.
