Meet Crystal Bridges volunteer Don Bradshaw!


Career Information (Past, Present or Future)

  • Former project manager at pb2 architecture and engineering (Rogers, AR). I retired in 2012.
  • Former engineer at Lucent Technologies (Little Rock)
  • Studied Civil Engineering at University of Arkansas.

Chihuly : In the Forest


Dale Chihuly’s gorgeous Sun, installed at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. And some great-looking sod.


How did you learn about the museum and what prompted you to get involved?

My wife Amy had been a volunteer for five years and encouraged me to get involved.


In what ways have you been involved as a volunteer with the Museum thus far?

Museum Guide Event Assistant, Avant Gardeners, Museum Guide Audio Distribution, and Admin-Support-Culinary


What keeps you coming back to volunteer?

I feel like the museum volunteers are performing a true service to the community.


What do you enjoy most about your volunteer experience?

Interacting with other volunteers and museum visitors


What have you learned or how have you been personally affected from your experience with the museum?

I have learned just what a large impact the museum has made locally, nationwide, and even internationally.


Do you have any advice for individuals considering volunteering with Crystal Bridges?

As a somewhat “reluctant” volunteer, I would encourage people to try it! They might enjoy it, as was my experience.
