Get to know a little more about this month’s Volunteer Spotlight: Ally Swindell!
Tell us a little about yourself. Who are you? What do you do? How long have you lived in the area?
I will be a senior at Bentonville West High School this fall and I have lived in this area my entire life.
I play alto saxophone in my high school’s marching, jazz, and concert band, and I enjoy reading and listening to music.
Favorite Books? Movies? TV Shows?
I always enjoy watching The Office and Disney movies.
Favorite places in Northwest Arkansas?
The Spark Cafe is one of my favorite spots to grab a treat on the square.
Favorite artwork(s) or space(s) at the museum?
I love spending time in the Library. One of my favorite artworks is Fly’s Eye Dome by R. Buckminster Fuller.
In what ways have you been involved as a volunteer with the museum thus far?
I began volunteering in September of 2019 and have volunteered in the Library and at various Education events.
What do you enjoy most about your volunteer experience?
I enjoy seeing the different sides of the museum and learning more about it.
What have you learned from, or how have you been personally affected by, your experience with the museum?
After being a member of Teen Council since my freshman year, I have grown tremendously and learned so much, and becoming a volunteer and member of Leadership this past September has further enriched my experience.
Do you have any advice for individuals considering volunteering with Crystal Bridges?
Try volunteering in different departments and areas to find the ones that best fit you, because there are many different options.
