“I have family members who have come from Arizona, Missouri, and other parts of Arkansas to see the Museum. Everyone has left with a positive feeling and a desire to return. “
How frequently do you visit Crystal Bridges?
I visit Crystal Bridges several times a month. Crystal Bridges is one of my special places that I rely on for relaxation, inspiration, and entertainment. I am transported into a world of imagination and creativity each time I enter the Museum.
What made you decide to become a Member of Crystal Bridges?
I am an Original Member. I joined as soon as I had the opportunity because I wanted to be supportive of the arts. I could not have imagined what a powerful force the Museum would be in the American art scene.
How has Crystal Bridges impacted you and your family?
I have enjoyed many of the ongoing activities that the Museum offers and certainly the opportunity to visit special exhibitions. I think the best benefit is the communication I receive about upcoming events because I can reserve times in advance.
If you could have lunch with any artist from the Crystal Bridges collection, who would it be, and why?
I would choose to have lunch with Andy Warhol. I certainly think he would have been an excellent conversationalist. He was a cultural phenomenon as well as a leader in the Pop art movement that occurred when I was growing up. He never quite fit in, but thrived. He was a child of immigrants, a survivor of violence, and a fixture of New York City society. Actors, politicians, entertainers, and famed writers were part of his collection of people. His work is not necessarily my favorite, but he reflected a particular social history that I will also find interesting.
