Crystal Bridges has become a popular location for Northwest Arkansas couples seeking a unique venue for their special day. This has been a busy wedding year at the Museum, with eight couples getting married here since January 1, and seven more scheduled before the end of the year! Just like the brides and grooms, each wedding has been unique—it isn’t always a ceremony in the Great Hall followed by a three-course dinner.
Outdoor ceremonies have been popular this year. The South Lawn, with Robert Indiana’s LOVE sculpture, makes a beautiful backdrop for exchanging vows. Another bride walked down the aisle under the watchful eye of Vaquero, meeting her groom on the Twin Bridges under a canopy of magnolia boughs.
Reception choices have been as varied as the ceremonies. One of the happy couples chose to hold an afternoon event in the Great Hall with a Southern tea party-themed reception, serving our famous chicken salad sandwiches, gourmet cheeseboards, and a beautiful array of wedding cake options. Another reception began with an indoor dinner buffet, followed by dancing under the stars on the South Lawn to a rock and roll band!
A big wedding isn’t for everyone. Crystal Bridges has created more intimate experiences for small parties of twenty to thirty as well. Throughout the year, couples looking for their own “secret garden” style experience have chosen the Tulip Tree Shelter for their ceremony. Although it’s only a short walk from the Museum’s main parking lot, the secluded wooded area feels like a different world!
