This Metro-billy / Professional Imbiber is perpetually in search of the next great cocktail trend: reading blogs, scouring magazine articles, and traveling from city to city just to taste, sip, and swirl the next great idea in the adult beverage world. The Eleven mixologists are no slouches when it comes to creating new and innovative flavor profiles, but occasionally we get a hankering for something a little more nostalgic and comforting.
This week Eleven launches a brand spankin’ new beverage menu chock full of both newfangled and old favorites. First up, a nod to Spring with the El Sueno, a stratified profile of tequila, lime, rosemary, and cucumber that has been a Museum guest favorite since our opening in 2011. (You can find the recipe for El Sueno here.)
We’re also bringing back the Slumdog Martini, a cultural and flavor mash-up of High South and India served UP featuring saffron-infused vodka folded into orange and ginger – one of my all-time personal favorites. (Recipe here. Scroll down to the end.)
Finally, we’ve embraced the trend of fat washing with the release of our Weathervane Cocktail, served on the rocks featuring bacon-fat-infused bourbon with maple syrup and our homemade apple-spiced bitters—a drink that transcends space and time, certain to be a new guest favorite. Cheers!
